The relationship comes first
Breathing, blinking, waving: the first version explores these simple gestures. They give the interface a sense of presence, but do not yet demonstrate an understanding of the person.
DevoryoA companion for
the roads you didn’t plan.
I imagine an AI companion that shares a little of everyday life on the road. A small creature with character, a recognizable presence and the ambition to become truly useful when plans change.
The idea starts with an imagined situation: crossing Canada, watching the fuel gauge drop and running out of battery. How can a helpful companion stay with you when your usual points of reference disappear?
At first, Feavara focused on a specific function: analysing a second-hand listing, estimating a price range and preparing for a negotiation. That first demo exists.
But my vision went much further. I wanted an embodied companion that moves, makes small sounds and has its own character. On a phone, she takes centre stage. On a computer, she can become a small presence in the corner of the page.
The small Devoryo refuge comes from the same idea: imagining another home for her when the phone is no longer available. For now, it is a hardware concept that still needs to be developed.
Travellers, with a particular focus on nomads, vanlife and road trips.
Have support when plans change, make better-informed choices and find help suited to what you actually have available.
The character is part of the experience. The tools open when you need them.
I defined a small black-and-white creature that walks on two legs, with arms and expressive features. Her personality should stay endearing, even when she sulks or shows a more rebellious side.
Breathing, blinking, waving: the first version explores these simple gestures. They give the interface a sense of presence, but do not yet demonstrate an understanding of the person.
Attitudes must remain subject to core rules: respect, privacy and no deliberately harmful behaviour. A vulnerable person should receive a gentle response, whatever attitude has been selected.
A basic equipment list can be suggested, but it must be confirmed. The assistance should not assume that someone has equipment, food or a backup option they do not actually have.
The companion and the tools each have their place. Two prototype screens show the transition.
A scene, a few gestures and three simple entry points: Talk, Tools and Settings.
A panel opens over the scene. Close it to return to Feavara.
The goal is deep specialization in practical travel situations. These skills describe the vision. Their level of expertise has not yet been validated.
Plan a route, understand vehicles used for travel in Canada and help reason through unexpected situations. Advice should account for the season, location, vehicle and confirmed equipment.
Still to build: current sources, planning tools and scenario evaluations.
Prepare an offer, ask the right questions and negotiate using facts. The goal is to help make a better decision. A successful outcome cannot be guaranteed.
An initial demo exists: listing analysis with a simulated report.
Adjust her tone when someone is going through a difficult time, respond gently and listen respectfully. Feavara is not presented as a psychologist, and her ability to detect distress remains imperfect.
Already present: a “Be gentle” mode and initial rules. Human evaluation is still needed.
Help put together a meal with a few ingredients and simple equipment, explaining each step. Available food, allergies and constraints need to be specified.
Still to build: recipes suited to the situation, nutritional information and verification of advice.
Estimate an item’s value in Canada and the United States using comparable listings, a date and a price range. A photo alone cannot guarantee an item’s condition or value.
Still to build: image analysis and access to reliable market comparisons.
A small black-and-white box, with a top that makes it feel as though Feavara lives inside. Then, perhaps, a holographic presence.
The vision involves a single identity that would move between the phone and the refuge, rather than existing in two places at once. An autonomous cube, this transfer and the hologram are all future work.
Hardware concept · no working cube exists yetStatus based on local prototype 0.4 and its code, as of October 10, 2026.
Without a connected engine, the prototype offers fixed preliminary responses.
No launch date has been announced.
I imagined Feavara: her role, her creature, her principles, her five domains and her future refuge.
I guide the experience and creative direction, then assess proposals and refine them. The prototype’s technical development was done with Codex. The local sources make it possible to show what has actually been built.
Still to add to the story: the names of the three selected attitudes, a personal introduction to the creator, test feedback and evaluation results.
